About Galaxy Gameworks

Galaxy Gameworks LLC was founded in 2008 to enhance the process of game development the world over, from casual independent development to multi-million dollar game studios. Their first product, Simple DirectMedia Layer, is a widely acclaimed game and multimedia development library, and is available under either a free license or traditional commercial licensing terms.

The founder, Sam Lantinga, is the original author of Simple DirectMedia Layer, and has over ten years in the game development industry including one of the lead software engineer roles on World of Warcraft.
